The Peacock and Juno by ~flyingpenguin has a curiously clay-like quality to this viewer's eyes. You probably won't have to read the description to see the parable in this piece.

The Peacock and Juno

Description

Another Fable concentration #9

Basically, the Peacock saw the Nightengale and started whining about how he was a laughingstock when he sang (despite the Nightengale's lack of physical beauty). Juno said to him that each of nature's creatures was endowed with their own gift and surely if his wish for a better voice was granted, he would find another reason to complain.

I like this one a lot too. Teacher didn't quite as much.

[Edit]

The goal for me was simplicity, for you who wish to understand why it is the way it is. Also, know that I am only really a beginning painter and this series was a lot of practice work for me. I would suggest looking at the others in the series. They stick out.

It's acrylics on canvas board, 8 x 11"

I love you guys for having a look at this.
